Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst odds-on to take Ipswich Town job
Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst is odds-on to take the vacant managerial job at Ipswich Town.
The Town chief, who leads his side into a massive play-off clash at Charlton tomorrow evening, saw his odds slashed from 2/1 to 4/7 with Skybet.
It is the first time that a candidate has been odds-on with the bookies to replace Mick McCarthy at Portman Road.
Hurst last week said he was flattered to be linked with the Tractor Boys but he assured fans he was focused on securing promotion with Town.
"That’s just a compliment to everyone here and the season that we’ve had," said Hurst.
"I’m not going to sit here and say it’s not nice to be linked with jobs because it means you’re doing something right," he said.
“All I will do is assure people my focus is very much on trying to be successful and get this club promoted.
“I think it is (a long term project), of course it is. Everything I’m trying to do and suggest to the football club is to try and improve the club."
