Abu Ogogo Go again after disappointing Shrewsbury loss
Skipper Abu Ogogo is grateful that Town have a chance to quickly put an uncharacteristic display behind them as they head to Fleetwood tomorrow.
Tireless midfielder Ogogo admitted that Saturday’s victors Plymouth were well worthy of their three points after being the better and brighter side in all departments at Montgomery Waters Meadow.
Town remained second after Wigan and Blackburn also dropped points and head to the north west tomorrow in what kicks off a hectic run of games in a busy February period.
Ogogo said: “It’s a tough one to take. They deserved to win, I thought they were better (than us), sharper all over the pitch. There are not many times this season when we come off and say the other team were better than us but today we have to take it on the chin and move on.
“They came and did a job. They were the better team, they deserved to win and that’s not like us.
“We did the same in the last home game against Doncaster so we need to put a stop to that.
“I can’t really put my finger on won’t went wrong but they were just brighter and sharper all over the pitch. Luckily we’ve got another game tomorrow.”
Ogogo recovered from a knock where he was winded early on and explained his frustration at the soft nature of the Pilgrims’ goals. Boss Paul Hurst described their equaliser as ‘a joke’.
“The goals were disappointing, another set-piece, scrappy goals,” he added. “Both were poor, to be fair.
“The first one Sads and Totes both went for the same ball, the guy flicked it and he’s one-on-one with the keeper. They’re disappointing to concede and we need to get back to clean sheets.”
He continued: “There are 16 cup finals to go.”
