In a game of few chances, Town went close in the first half through Andy Mangan, whose looping effort was cleared off the line.

Town then had goalkeeper Mark Halstead to thank for keeping the scores level at the break as he made a good save with his legs from Jack Marriott.

The game brightened up in the second half with Town having more of the ball and they took the lead on 54 minutes when Mangan found Ebanks-Blake and he slotted home with ease.

Callum Roberts could have added a second, but his powerful header was well saved by the Mansfield keeper.
