The 20-year-old on-loan Crystal Palace star took his tally to four goals in as many games since returning to the club. with his classy brace in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Bury.

Kaikai now has nine goals in 18 appearances for Town in his two spells and is their top scorer this season.

And the youngster believes Town, who are eight games unbeaten in the league, carry more threat now than they did before Christmas when he was last at the Greenhous Meadow.

He said: "The team has got more confidence and when we're attacking, we're more of a threat. The front four have a really good understanding, so that's the difference between this time and last time."

Kaikai is happy his goals are proving so vital in Town's survival fight, adding: "I came back here to enjoy my football and contribute to the team and help us stay up – that's the important goal.

"So as long as my goals are contributing to the team, I'm happy with that. It was quite attacking (on Saturday) and it nearly paid off – it was just a bit unfortunate we couldn't hang on to the lead.

"But we'll go into the next game full of confidence."

Kaikai insists the draw, which saw Town now eight points clear of the drop zone with nine games left, is more important than his goals. He added: "I was happy with the goals but more so the point."

He rates his second one – a left-footed chip after shifting feet and dummying a defender – his favourite one of all nine so far.

He said: "I think the second one. It was a good ball by Shaun Whalley and I did well to get away from a defender when I saw he was going to dive in, then sell him a dummy, and I had the composure to finish it.

"For the first one, I just wanted to get at the full back so I dropped my shoulder and I thought I'd try my luck with a shot and it went in."
