Ian Sharps could make the difference to Bucks' survival bid
Steve Kittrick claims AFC Telford have pulled off a coup after swooping for former Shrewsbury Town skipper Ian Sharps.
The 34-year-old centre-back, who played an integral role in Town's 2012 League Two promotion-winning team, has signed until the end of the season at the New Bucks Head after leaving Burton Albion.
Kittrick believes he will provide his side with vital experience and leadership as they battle the drop from the Conference Premier.
"He will give us that little bit of guile on the pitch, he will give us a voice and on top of it all is a good defender," said the Telford boss. "It's a massive plus for the club."
Sharps, who began his career at Tranmere and has also played for Rotherham, notched up 24 appearances for Burton this season.
But only three of those came after Jimmy Floyd Hassebaink replaced Gary Rowett as boss.
"He's got a lot of know-how – the kind which would have seen us take three points at Eastleigh on Saturday rather than just one,"added Kittrick
"Ian wants to come and I think he is going to have a big impact."
