Jason Gilchrist scored twice for the hosts, after setting up Tom Greaves' strike in the first half.

Bucks midfielder Henry Cowans opened the scoring with a sensational effort from 35 yards out - three minutes in.

"Being 1-0 up so early on, away from home, we did not capitalise on that," said Edwards.

"I thought we dominated possession. That's all well and good, but you've got to carry a real threat with it as well.

"I spoke to the lads about stopping the counter-attack, making sure we stop their threats.

"Their game plan was to counter and we didn't stop that.

"It is very frustrating in two parts really - we could have done better in terms of creation, and we should have dealt with their threats when we lost the ball."

Telford are now four games without a win across all competitions.

This was their first-ever loss to FC United.

"Football is down to fine margins," said Edwards.

"They took their opportunities and we didn't.

"I think 14 times we had first contact in their box, but didn't make anything of it.

"It's been three games in a row now where we have been very good in the first half, but haven't taken advantage over the 90 minutes."
