Larry Chambers ruing break for AFC Telford

Assistant boss Larry Chambers has rued the mini break AFC Telford now face following a spirited showing in the 2-1 defeat to AFC Fylde.

The Bucks face a 10-day gap after putting in one of their best performances of the season on Saturday.

"I think it is not good having a break. I feel that when you put in a performance like that you want to put in another one quickly," said Chambers. "You want to see if you can do the same again. We have got 10 days off now but that is football.

"We have picked up one or two injuries. Jack Rea is out and from that point of view it gives us the chance to recharge our batteries and get people fit again."

The Bucks No.2 is hoping his team can now find a run of consistency after a series of mix and match performances.

"They have shown that sort of passion and energy (against Fylde), but it is not consistent," he said.

"You wouldn't believe it was the same team that played against Hednesford.

"If we put on a run of performances like that the results will come."

The Bucks have brought in a number of players over recent weeks, including the return of Connor McCarthy. But despite the arrivals, Chambers didn't rule out more signings.

"If we think we can bring someone in who can improve us, whether it is a defender, midfield player or striker, then the club have backed us to do that," he said.
