Rob Smith calls for AFC Telford fan power

Manager Rob Smith has urged AFC Telford United's fans to roar their side to victory during tomorrow night's crunch derby relegation battle with Hednesford.

The Bucks moved level on points with their rivals following Saturday's huge win over fellow strugglers Bradford Park Avenue and have three more massive home fixtures coming up.

A win tomorrow would move them off the bottom of the National League North for the first time since Smith and assistant Larry Chambers came back to the club.

The sides are level on points but Hednesford, who have two games in hand, boast a better goal difference. Defeat could put a huge dent in either club's fight for survival.

Smith said: "We have got some momentum, but we're still bottom of the league I told them after the game on Saturday we're still bottom and it has set up for a massive game on Tuesday.

"I hope our supporters come out because I know there has been a good vibe around here recently.

"Everyone came in to Saturday's game with a positive attitude and the supporters are going to be really big for us on Tuesday.

"We're in a good place in terms of the commitment and attitude in the changing room, but after getting seven points out of nine we're still bottom, so that tells you a lot about the situation we're in."

Smith believes his squad has enough cover up front but he will look to bring someone in at centre-back, with Curtis Tilt due to serve a one-game suspension.

Smith will also be losing captain Jack Rea after he limped off with a hamstring injury on Saturday. He will assessed but could be out for two to three weeks.

The Bucks chief said: "Mike Grogan is waiting and obviously Tom Tonks was disappointed on Saturday not to start but we might have to bring some more people in."
