Rob Smith in 'back us' plea to the fans

AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith today issued a rallying call to fans – as he continued his overhaul by allowing another player to go.

Smith wants the Telford public to make the New Bucks Head as hostile as possible as his ever-changing side face back-to-back home games against a high-flying Harrogate and North Ferriby.

"It's massive for us – if the fans can be like they were against Brackley then it's like a 12th man here," said Smith, who has allowed summer signing Jack Roberts to join Rushall Olympic on a month's loan.

"We couldn't ask for a much tougher next three games – Harrogate, North Ferriby and AFC Fylde – and if we get no points from them, we'll be in a dodgy situation.

"But we're at home and we played well in the last home game and I'm confident we can get something, especially if the fans back us as well again.

"Hopefully we'll have more new faces next week and that way we're only going to get better."

On the injury front, Smith said: "Sean Clancy has a bit of a hamstring injury but we hope he'll be alright, and Darren Campion and Izak Reid should be OK.

"But we haven't had the results of Mike Grogan's scan, so he's still unavailable."
