Boss calling for patience at AFC Telford
AFC Telford United manager Steve Kittrick has urged supporters to be patient after his revamped team suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at Lowestoft Town.
The Bucks came in for criticism from fans after they shipped three soft goals in nine second-half minutes on the opening day of the National League North campaign.
And Kittrick, who has made huge changes to the squad following last season's relegation, said: "We didn't get hold of the midfield, but there is a lot of it (to do with) not having been playing together.
"What I don't think helps is supporters shouting 'you're rubbish, he's rubbish, that's rubbish.' It's the first game of the season.
"They are all frustrated. They have spent their money to come down here, but shouting and balling and telling me I am rubbish is not going to change things. It's counter-productive."
After a busy summer overhaul, Kittrick's starting line-up contained eight new summer signings.
And the former Guiseley boss will be hoping his side show more cohesion when they welcome Curzon Ashton to the New Bucks Head tomorrow night.
One player who looks set not to be involved is midfielder Jordan Goddard, after Kittrick stated that the he would not play for the club again.
Goddard only joined the Bucks from Leamington in June for a nominal fee, but was not included in the squad on Saturday.
And Kittrick said afterwards: "Jordan won't play for Telford. He is going to get another club and move on. That is all I am prepared to say. really."
The Bucks have already seen one departure over the weekend, with Mat Bailey returning to former club Nantwich Town on Saturday.
