Despite the season finishing just two weeks ago, the Bucks manager has been incredibly busy as he looks to improve his squad in preparation for an assault on the Conference North.

Kittrick revealed he held a positive meeting with six "very good" players at the New Bucks Head on Thursday night. But despite being impressed with what the group had to say, the manager is refusing to rush into any decisions.

"I had six individual conversations with players on Thursday night which went very, very well," Kittrick said.

"It had to find out what they wanted financially but most importantly I had to see that they wanted to come and play for Telford. They are some very good players to be fair.

"But I'm not going to sign anyone without doing my homework. I think a lot of teams jump into bed too quickly with players without doing the groundwork first.

"That's not a mistake I want to make. You can't get every signing right but by taking your time and speaking to people properly you can get a good idea who will be right."

The boss revealed ever since the season finished his phone has be ringing with agents and players keen to try and secure moves.

"We are getting very close to 50 players now that I have spoken to or spoken to agents about," Kittrick said.

"It's a merry-go-round at the moment. But at this stage of the season the power is with the player – they are looking for the best deals. But as pre-season draws closer the power will be with the clubs.

"I'll now have a good think over the weekend, take stock and speak to the six players on Monday or Tuesday.

"From our point of view there is no rush, I'm happy to take my time to ensure we bring in the right ones."
