AFC Telford's Adam Farrell guns for old club
AFC Telford United striker Adam Farrell enjoyed plenty of good times during his year-long stay at AFC Fylde.
But it will not stop the versatile attacker aiming to bite the hand that once fed him, when his current and former employers go head to head in the FA Trophy second round tomorrow.
Farrell was top scorer for the Coasters as they fell in the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off semi-finals to Hednesford at the end of the 2012-13 season.
And he credits the ambitious club, which aims to reach the Football League by 2022, with a pivotal role in his football education, but will be all business when the Bucks visit Kellamergh Park tomorrow.
He said: "The coaches at Fylde taught me a lot. I got a lot of confidence playing in that division, which was the highest I had played in at the time.
"There were a lot of good players in the team so to finish above them as top scorer gave me a lot of confidence that I could push on for the rest of my career, and from there I joined Telford.
"Fylde are a good team with a lot of ambition. I had a good time while I was there, the fans were good, the whole club was nice to me.
"But we are on a good run at the minute which is what we needed – that little bit of momentum – so we just need to carry it on and keep that run going."
Telford will go to Lancashire riding a four-match unbeaten run, including a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over Chester in round one of this competition.
The Bucks remain rooted to the bottom of the Conference Premier, after a dismal first-half of the campaign.
But they have shown signs of turning the corner under new boss Steve Kittrick, who is introducing a more expansive playing style.
Fylde, meanwhile, are unbeaten in 11 and sit top of the next division down, the Conference North. And Farrell says the hosts will have no inferiority complex tomorrow.
He said: "I think it will be pretty much a level playing field. They are top of their league and doing well. They play some really good football, they try to play from the back so it should be a good game.
"I wouldn't be surprised if the game goes to a replay but we will try to get it finished in 90 minutes.
"Everyone here is really upbeat, everyone is in a good mood. When we came in after beating Aldershot on Sunday everyone had really enjoyed it because we played some really good stuff."

Although the Coasters' team has changed significantly since Farrell's time there, he is still familiar with a number of their main threats.
And assistant manager Andy Todd has picked his brains about what to expect from the opposition.
Farrell said: "There s three or four that are still there from when I was there so it will be good seeing them again and going up against them.
"The goalkeeper Ben Hinchcliffe, Adam Sumner the left-back, and then (attackers) Michael Barnes and Richie Allen were all there. They are among the main threats that they have got."
