New-boy Jordan Deacey 'the best player we faced' says AFC Telford's Liam Watson
Liam Watson today revealed Jordan Deacey's performances against AFC Telford United last season were what led to him signing the attacking midfielder.
The 20-year-old became the Bucks latest signing last night when he put pen to paper on a one-year deal.
Deacey, who had been linked with several clubs in the Football League, has spent the past three seasons at Bradford Park Avenue and caught Watson's eye when the Yorkshire team visited the New Bucks Head for a Skrill North last season. As part of the deal, Avenue will have a sell-on clause for any future move.
"Jordan was probably the best player we went up against last season – he was particularly good when he came to the New Bucks Head," said Watson.
"There's a deal in place where he can leave his club for no cost, as long as he's stepping up a league, with a sell-on clause for Bradford Park Avenue. He came to start pre-season with us, there was talk of Football League clubs being interested but that hasn't materialised for him."
Deacey made 110 appearances during his time at Bradford where his father John is the manager.
