AFC Telford's Andy Pryce happy with coaching role
Andy Pryce today expressed hope new No.1 Jonathan Hedge is a smash hit at AFC Telford next season – even if it limits his own playing time.
Hedge joined the Bucks last month after being released by Grimsby Town and the 25-year-old is in line to replace long-term custodian Ryan Young between the sticks, following the his departure to Havant and Waterlooville.
Goalkeeping player-coach Pryce says he can't wait to work with the new man and admits he'll be delighted if Hedge hogs the limelight, as he scales down his own playing career and concentrates on coaching.
Pryce, who didn't play a single minute for the first-team last season, said: "I haven't had chance to speak to Jonathan yet but I have heard good things about him and I'm looking forward to teaming up with him.
"I've not really seen him play but (manager) Liam Watson speaks very highly of him.
"Working with Ryan Young was excellent last season and I didn't have to put the gloves on once.
"I'll be more than happy if it's the same case with Jonathan next season as it will mean he is having a good year."
Pryce joined Telford from Market Drayton Town last summer, though he had previously played for the Bucks in 2004 and 2005.
