Andy Sinton sure loan deal will benefit Jake Reid
AFC Telford striker Jake Reid will benefit greatly from his loan spell at Redditch United, Bucks boss Andy Sinton has said.
Reid missed several weeks of the season out injured after picking up a hamstring injury in August's trip to Luton Town.
Since returning to the squad he has slipped down the pecking order behind striking colleagues Kieron St Aimie, Steve Jones, Chris Sharp and James Spray.
But Sinton believes a consistent run of games for Redditch will help bring the former Newport County frontman back up to speed and back into contention upon his return.
Reid marked his debut for Redditch, who play in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division, on Saturday with the winning goal against Kettering.
Sinton said: "Jake was out seven weeks which is not his fault. He has worked extremely hard but I just feel at this minute he's probably behind St Aimie, Spray Sharp and Jones.
"I could have brought him to Tamworth on Saturday and sat him on the bench or sat him in the stand, but that's another week gone by when he's not playing.
"But if we can get him five or six games at Redditch I am convinced there is a decent conference player there.
"He wanted to go out on loan, not because he wanted to leave but because he wanted to go and play. He wasn't bothered about the level."
Sinton added that the club would keep tabs on the player's progress during his spell in Worcestershire.
Reid was the second player to be sent out on loan last week following Chris Blackburn's one-month loan move to Chorley.
