Steve Jones eyes 15-goal season for AFC Telford United
Striker Steve Jones is targeting a haul of at least 15 goals for AFC Telford United by the end of the season.
The 36-year old hitman is already more than halfway to that target after netting his seventh and eighth goals of the season against Ebbsfleet on Tuesday.
The strikes extended a prolific spell for the Northern Ireland forward which has seen him find the net six times in as many games.
Asked what his goal target for the season as he said: "I would like to get 15 at least and then re-assess it after that."
Jones, who was expected to be in the Bucks side travelling to Tamworth this afternoon, is currently the club's leading scorer, although Kieron St Aimie is not far behind with five goals to his name.
Jones would have added another goal to his impressive total had he not seen a last- minute penalty saved against Ebbsfleet after Steven Leslie had been brought down in the box by Patrick Ada.
"I felt confident about taking the penalty and getting my hat-trick so it was disappointing but we'll move on," he said.
He added that he was pleased with the Bucks' start to the season, which has seen them rise to 10th in the table after 17 games.
But he said that the team needed to get back to winning ways after failing to win any of their last five games.
