Ex-Lamb Kieron St Aimie aims to put boot in
Last time Telford travelled to The Lamb Kieron St Aimie was the hosts' stand-out player, grabbing a brace in a 2-2 draw.
When he returns tomorrow with The Bucks he will be aiming to cause just as much havoc against his former club.
St Aimie scored 11 times in 19 apperances for Tamworth since arriving in Staffordshire last summer.
And he began this season in equally-impressive form following his move to the New Bucks Head, netting five times in his first 11 games.
A three-match ban following a red card against Newport County momentarily curtailed that scoring run and he has failed to find the net in his last five games since returning to the side.
But despite his fondness for his time with Tamworth, there will be no ambivalence should he snap that drought on Saturday.
"I did like it there," he said. "But the main thing is I play for Telford now and I want to beat them like I want to beat every other team and get three points."
St Aimie, who began his career at Queens Park Rangers, has remained in touch with some of his former team-mates and admitted there had been some good-natured banter ahead of the weekend's game.
"A few of them have messaged me in the week. Sam Oji, Duane Courtney, Scotty Barrow. I have spoken to a few of them and they are looking forward to the game and having a bit of banter so it should be good," he said.
St Aimie also knows more than most about The Lambs' most prolific weapon, his former strike partner Adam Cunnington.
The 6ft 3in former Dagenham & Redbridge forward has scored 11 times this season and St Aimie warned that Cunnington 'can get even better' but he will remain focused on his own game on Saturday.
He is keen to get back on the scoresheet but he also pointed out that he has made other contributions during games since his return to the side.
He said: "My first game back against Grimsby I had a very good game and the Nuneaton games were bad performances from the team overall so I wouldn't say my form has actually dipped.
"Against Alfreton I was disappointed to be on the bench but I came on and made my statement to say I should be in the team.
"I haven't hit the back of the net but I have made contributions, I have made runs to open up space for my team mates.
"But the goals will come. It's a long season. You have just got to be patient."
Arguably now is a good time to tackle Tamworth, who have lost their way in recent games.
Marcus Law's side were among the early pacesetters in the league following a run of five wins and a draw from their first six games.
They have though lost their last five and have yet to score in their last four games.
They will though be bosted by the returns to contention of left-sided player Barrow following a one-match ban (five yellow cards).
Defender Oji will miss the game as he is serving his second of a three game ban while MK Dons loanee George Baldock (foot) remains a doubt due to injury and striker JP Marner has also been ruled out through injury.
