Dan Preston attitude praised by Andy Sinton

AFC Telford boss Andy Sinton has praised defender Dan Preston following his return to competitive first team action following a four-match ban – and he has also revealed he is keen to extend fellow centre-back Liam Chilvers' stay at the New Bucks Head.

Preston made his first start for the Bucks in Tuesday night's FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay defeat at Nuneaton since his sending off against Newport County last month.

That dismissal came on his return from a separate six-game ban following his dismissal and violent conduct at Luton in August.

The former Birmingham City defender has missed 10 games overall this season and was disciplined by the club following the latter.

But following the end of his latest ban, Preston was named as an unused substitute in Saturday's home game against Nuneaton and then came into the starting Xl for the replay as cover for Jordan Rose, who was serving a one-match ban.

Sinton said: "I thought he was superb on Tuesday. All eyes are on him. I thought he handled himself really well.

"I think he was a bit unfortunate with the penalty but his performance and his attitude and behaviour were exemplary."
