Andy Sinton has no complaints after FA Cup exit

The Bucks chief, whose side were undone by a late James Armson penalty, also believes now is the right time to try to strengthen his squad with new recruits as injuries begin to mount up again.

Having been disappointed by his side's perceived lack of desire in the original tie on Saturday, Sinton praised his players' dedication last night. But he conceded the Bucks had not had threatened enough in the final third and could have few complaints about going out at the fourth qualifying round stage.

The defeat cost Telford a trip to fellow Blue Square Bet Premier League side Luton in the first round next month as well as £12.500 prize money.

"I am disappointed to go out. I would have loved another crack at Luton as well as money for the club, he said. "But we will have to wait another year. I have no complaints with the lads. I thought our application was excellent.

"We just didn't have enough in the final third which is an area we have been really good in this season. We huffed and we puffed but we didn't do enough to unlock Nuneaton."

Sinton was without injured right back Will Salmon (ankle) and Nathan Rooney (bruised metatarsal) for the game while centre back Jordan Rose, who was yesterday serving a one-match ban, is also carrying an ankle injury.

Defenders Chris Blackburn and Michael Briscoe (both back) are also sidelined by injury along with Jay Smith (abductor) and Darren Byfield (hamstring) while Liam Chilvers' current short term deal with the club is nearing its end.

With some available players short of match practice Sinton said he would be keen to freshen up the squad with some new recruits.

"Maybe now is the time to strengthen. We are light in the full back area, we are certainly light at centre-back," he said.

"Briscoe needs an operation, Blackburn is still nowhere near fit, Rose who was suspended last night is carrying an injury. We have got injuries so we can use the emergency loan but finances will dictate that."
