The 20-year-old Wolves fan came off the bench to grab the only goal to settle the game at stadium:mk in front of 8,943 travelling supporters.

And the striker admitted scoring his first Wolves League goal in front of all those fans was the stuff dreams are made of after netting in the 81st minute.

"It's something I've been dreaming about since I was an eight-year-old lad. It's a dream come true," said McAlinden, who had a stint on loan at Shrewsbury earlier this season.

"I had a lot of friends and family who were going mad in the crowd.

"I'm a Wolves fan myself so to do it in front of all of those fans was a great experience.

"Hopefully it will be the first of many and will be something I remember for the rest of my life."

The victory put Wolves10 points clear of third-placed Leyton Orient, and just 10 points short of automatic promotion with seven matches left.
