Shropshire's newest trainer Nicky Vaughan made it two wins from just four runners in the last 14 days when Gee Major galloped to victory at Kempton.
Despite being a 14-1 shot for last night's class six handicap, Gee Major took up the running from the two furlong pole and stayed on strongly to beat Shaunas Spirit.
Gee Major had opened on the course at 33-1 before attracting support and the win was no surprise to Vaughan, who trains at Helshaw Grange, near Market Drayton.
"I expected him to run well as he needs a sound surface," said Vaughan. "He's best when he is at his own level – and this is his level."
Ridden by Luke Morris, it was the four-year-old's second run on sand and, on this evidence, there could be more to come.
