Derby backlash is target for Wolves
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insists that his team's recent defeat against QPR will not be playing on their minds as they welcome Derby County to Molineux tonight (7.45pm).
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insists that his team's recent defeat against QPR will not be playing on their minds as they welcome Derby County to Molineux tonight (7.45pm).
The Championship leader's 1-0 reverse at Loftus Road on Saturday was their first in nine games, and McCarthy has promised lessons will be learned as they prepare to host Paul Jewell's inconsistent Rams.
"Now we go to tonight," McCarthy said. "We could have got something (on Saturday) but we didn't and I can't do anything about that now.
"We'll just pick the bones out of the DVD, move on, and see what we can improve."
Matt Jarvis may feature for Wolves but McCarthy is taking a cautious approach with the winger, who has been struggling with a hamstring injury.
Jody Craddock is still recovering from a broken toe and is not match fit.
Derby defender Martin Albrechtsen is in contention for a place in the Rams starting line-up after missing the past month with a calf injury.
Second place Birmingham City travel to face Plymouth.
Nicky Hunt is available for Blues having extended his loan deal from Bolton until January 10.
Fellow right-back Stuart Parnaby is fit again but left-back Stephen Kelly remains absent with a thigh strain.
