As contests go it was a total mis-match - and Shropshire's junior selectors will have learned little from an annihilation of Lancashire.

They won their Drakes Pride qualifying group two opener by 225 chalks overall on Sunday, the three girls selected for historic first appearances leading the way.

Holly Bishton won 21-1 in the away leg at Golborne with Cheryl Caswell close behind with a 21-3 card at No 3 as Shropshire won the first eight games in recording an 86 point success.

And their fellow British Ladies Junior Merit winner Jade Jones won 21-1 at Old Shrewsbury as sorry Lancashire managed just one winner, only two in double figures and just 100 chalks from 12 games to lose by 139.Next it's Greater Manchester on June 8, when a clash of dates means the three girls may well opt to play for Shropshire Ladies against North Warwickshire.

But Shropshire juniors' crunch group game comes on July 13 when they must tackle reigning under-18 champions Yorkshire - and Bishton, Caswell and Jones are all free to play.
