David Cameron has praised Market Drayton for its "very successful" homecoming parade for Shropshire-based soldiers, who are recently back from a seven-month tour of Afghanistan.
During Prime Minister's Questions at Westminster yesterday, Mr Cameron was asked by Nigel Dodds MP why there were not yet any firm plans for 1st Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment, to be honoured with a parade in Northern Ireland.
Mr Cameron said Market Drayton hosted the first parade because the soldiers are stationed at nearby Tern Hill, and talks were ongoing with Belfast City Council.
