The glitz of Hollywood has boosted the glamour factor at a Shropshire shopping centre which has launched its own fashion week.

Models took to the catwalk yesterday at Telford Shopping Centre to officially open a series of shows which will entertain visitors all this week.

The event has a movie theme with many of the ensembles based on some of the most popular big screen looks.

Daily shows are being staged in Sherwood Square and will run until this Sunday.

And with Sex and the City 2 now open at cinemas across Shropshire, the mix of style, dancing and singing was certainly attracting the Bank Holiday crowds yesterday.

As part of the venture, professional catwalk models are showing-off the latest looks from many of the top names found in the centre including Zara, House of Fraser, Debenhams, Primark and Marks & Spencer.

Tracy Hadley, Telford Shopping Centre marketing manager, said this year's show was very colourful and glitzy.

Sally Mansell, who is organising the catwalk extravaganza and has styled the shows for this week, said she was delighted with the response the fashion event had received.
