Francesca McFall, known to family and friends as Frankie, was a popular 18-year-old student who was looking forward to this month's Valentine's ball.

Just hours after telling friends on Facebook that she had a date for the ball, a murder inquiry had been launched.

Today friends were already leaving messages on her page in tribute to her.

One friend, Rob Shone, said simply "love you". Another, Chloe Millington, said: "I miss you I want you back!!"

At 8.51pm yesterday Frankie told her friends on Facebook how she was "buzzing" in anticipation of the Valentine's ball.

At 10.21pm she put some new photos on her profile page of her enjoying a friend's "beautiful" birthday party. The photos showed the attractive teenager laughing with her friends as they ate birthday cake.

Several months ago Frankie had enjoyed a family holiday with her parents, Hugh and Sue, to New York. When she returned to the UK, Frankie told her friends on her profile page she wanted to go back to New York because she had had a "taste" of it.

Her father's body is understood to have been found at a lock-up in St Martins where Mr McFall ran his successful flower shop. He travelled the country buying flowers for his wholesale business.

His wife, Sue, had previously worked at Stan's before moving to work at the HSBC bank in Oswestry where she was a popular worker and well known throughout the town.

Mr McFall had previously been a driving instructor.

Frankie's photos put on Facebook in November showed her having a family holiday with her parents - the smiles beaming into the camera showed no signs of worry from either her or her parents. She hugged her father as they posed for a picture together at the city sites.

Frankie had made plans to go on a gap year - the start of her adult life which she will now never experience. The teenager was looking forward to going to Nepal to volunteer in hospitals.

Friends at Oswestry School and The Marches School, where she studied GCSEs, were comforting each other as they learned of the tragic news.

Photo albums created by Frankie show the happiest times with her friends, one album sums up her life as "fun, fun, fun".

Frankie was also a music lover and often enjoyed gigs in pubs in her hometown. She had enjoyed the V-Festival last August with friends, where smiling Frankie basked in the sunshine with her friends, while watching stars including Katy Perry.

Her love of music had also seen her enjoy last year's Workhouse Festival where photos once again showed her having fun with her friends.

Frankie had also enjoyed her leaving prom at The Marches School in 2008 where she posed for pictures with her friends wearing a prom gown and tiara.

Frankie's mother, Sue, had two children, Daniel and Nicola Gillham, from a previous marriage after living in Prince Charles Road in Oswestry with her ex-husband Pete for many years.
