When the sale was completed last week, television producers collared the pair and asked them to be on the hit show, which airs at 10am on weekday mornings.

And the thrilled couple, who plan to marry in September after seven years together, jumped at the chance to be on the programme.

It charts the progress of people who buy houses at auction before redeveloping them for sale or rent.

So far the pair have wasted no time with the project and the renovation work is already in full swing.

Camera crews were in Dawley on May 13 to film the couple's progress.

Lacey, who works for communications firm Geko Direct Limited in Telford, said: "They film the show in two parts and so far we have only filmed the first part.

"They will come and see us again once the work is done to reveal the outcome. The cameras were rolling from the moment we completed the sale.

"It's a quick turnaround project and I estimate we have added £30,000 to the value of the house already, but we are spending about £7,000 on doing the work so it's not pure profit.

"There's a lot of work to do in the house and the garden because the last tenants hadn't looked after it well.

"The thought of being on TV was quite intimidating but the host Martin Roberts was a nice character and made us feel at ease plus the crew were all really good."

The couple are being backed financially by Dave Carter, the boss of Geko, and Alec Webb Carpentry and Construction.

Once the house is ready to be put on the rental market the couple will manage the property.

No date has yet been fixed for broadcasting their episode. It is understood it will be screened later this summer.nextpageAlec Webb with his fiancee Lacey Hatton.Alec Webb with his fiancee Lacey Hatton.nextpageBuilder Rich Lucas clears up one of the bedrooms.Builder Rich Lucas clears up one of the bedrooms.nextpageOne of the three bedrooms at the house. One of the three bedrooms at the house.nextpageAlec gets busy decorating the kitchen.Alec gets busy decorating the kitchen.nextpageAlec with his mum, Pauline Webb, as he gets ready for a spot of gardening.Alec with his mum, Pauline Webb, as he gets
