Dismayed but not surprised at Daniel Kawczynski

I was dismayed, although I have to add not surprised, to read about Daniel Kawczynski's recent question in Parliament.

The question was, "To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, if his department will take steps to encourage the uptake of private health insurance to relieve pressures on the NHS?"

This would surely exacerbate the problem rather than solving it and is a further step along the way to the creeping privatisation of the NHS. There are those who say, including many healthcare professionals, that the current crisis within the NHS has been deliberately engineered, by underfunding, to enable it's privatisation. Needless to say those who would profit directly or indirectly from such privatisation would vehemently deny that this deliberate underfunding is taking place.

I am certain the majority of constituents cannot afford private health care and therefore our MP should be demanding adequate funding and investment in the NHS, not encouraging further privatisation.
