Three of four lanes were closed on the M6 northbound in Great Barr due to the incident, which caused nine miles of congestion on the approach, going back to junction 4a.

Traffic officers were working at the scene with police, and all lanes were reopened at around 6.30pm but there was still eight miles of congestion on the approach.
