Telford-based manufacturer to create 50 new jobs ahead of factory move

Telford manufacturer has launched a huge recruitment campaign following busy period for the business

A manufacturer has launched a new recruitment drive to hire 50 new staff ahead of a move to larger premises.

Telford-based Aviramp says the expansion of its payroll is needed following a period of sustained growth.

The move comes as the company is preparing to relocate to new premises although firm details of location and timescale are yet to be announced.

Aviramp was founded in 2011 by chief executive Graham Corfield and makes step-free aircraft boarding ramps.

The company said it had enjoyed "a hugely successful" 2025, as it clinched major international deals and several industry awards, which had continued into 2026, prompting the need for more staff and a bigger base.

The new jobs are being created in international installation and assembly at its factory on Stafford Park where staff will complete, assemble and prepare ramps for shipping.

Some posts will also involve international travel to install ramps at airports around the world.

Aviramp's commercial director Wayne Lawrence said: "The growth of the company has continued at pace which was outlined by the figures highlighting the success of 2025.

"That has only continued into this year and has led to the expansion and move to new and larger premises which is only going to allow the business to grow further.

"To reach the next stage we need to recruit which is why we're creating new jobs to go alongside our move to a new headquarters.

"As a business, we've always prided ourselves on creating opportunities for the local community and that is what we're doing through this recruitment drive."

The latest expansion comes after Aviramp saw the number of ramps in operation worldwide rise to more than 950 by the end of 2025, with new global sales in America, Asia, Europe and Australasia.
