Cordon in place around Telford Tesco following incident

A cordon is in place around a Tesco Express in Telford following an incident.

Police tape can be seen around the supermarket in Hadley - with shattered glass scattered over the pavement beside the entrance.

One local resident said: “We think there was a burglary overnight but don’t know much more than that. It was burgled a few weeks ago.”

She said the shop had been closed all day.

No police officers were remaining on the scene this afternoon but the entrance to the store was still sealed off with tape.

The shop was previously targeted shortly before midnight on September 3 - about a couple of months ago.

West Mercia Police and Tesco have been contacted for a comment.
