Parish council in Telford set to discuss response to plans for 1,500 homes as deadline looms
So far objections to the new proposed community vastly outnumber supportive comments
A parish council meeting will be held to discuss plans for a 1,500-home development on the outskirts of north Telford.
An extra meeting of Wrockwardine Parish Council has been called as more than 70 public objections are lodged against Bloor Homes' proposed Bratton Green development.
With a deadline for comments of November 3, the council has organised a meeting to consider its formal response.
So far objections to the new proposed community close to Admaston and Shawbirch vastly outnumber supportive comments on the Telford & Wrekin Council planning portal.

Concerns have been expressed about traffic, pressure on the health service and impact on the countryside and wildlife.
A member of the public with "no problem with the application" called for the council to canvass for a new or extended Telford hospital.
But an Admaston resident wrote: "Our community has reached its absolute breaking point.
"While the need for housing is understood, development must be sustainable. The proposed scheme represents a severe case of overdevelopment."
Another said the roads "hardly cope with the rush hour's current levels" of traffic.
A Shawbirch resident said: "The roads in the local area are already chaotic and overcrowded especially at peak hours."
Another said: "I understand the need for housing but this I feel is overdevelopment and would negatively harm the environment and the well being of current residents."
Another Admaston resident said: "The traffic created by this huge application will bring the area to a standstill."
One supporter wrote: "I’m really supportive of this development.
"Having grown up in Madeley, where so much is within walking distance, I’ve experienced first-hand the benefits of a well-planned community.
"Having everything you need to thrive close to home makes such a difference to everyday life."
An Apley resident said: "I think the site sounds like a wonderful idea.
"More schools, energy-efficient homes and a lovely estate overlooking the countryside."

When Bloor Homes submitted the outline planning application it stated that in addition to delivering "much-needed new homes to assist the council in meeting Government housing targets" it would also include "extensive community facilities", employment land, and a network of new active travel routes set within green corridors.
There would also be specialist older people’s housing, affordable homes, and a new local centre.
"The plans put natural features at the heart of the new neighbourhood, with a focus on providing extensive green public open spaces and significant biodiversity enhancements," a statement read.
Max Whitehead, planning director at Bloor Homes, said: “Our vision for Bratton Green is to create a sustainable community where people of all ages can thrive.
"Shaped by the site’s existing landscape, our plans provide extensive green public spaces, retain mature trees and the majority of existing hedgerows, and deliver significant biodiversity enhancements.”
Wrockwardine Parish Council is set to meet from 6.30pm on Wednesday (October 28) at Admaston House Community Centre.
Before the council considers its own response to planners there will be a public session where members of the public will be able to have their say.
