Wolves wait for news on defender's fitness after scan

Wolves are sweating on the fitness of Ghislain Konan after the left-back missed Saturday’s win over Watford through injury.

The 30-year-old, who joined last month as a free agent, was due to undergo a scan on a knee injury sustained in training.

Boss Cesar Peixoto fears the Ivory Coast international may be set for a spell on the sidelines but is awaiting confirmation from the club’s medical team.

Peixoto delivered better news on Nasser Djiga, who missed the match with a groin issue.

Fer Lopez was an unused substitute against the Hornets after complaining of a calf problem.

Peixoto said: “Fer was on the bench and if we needed him would have played. We did not take a risk.

“Nasser is nothing too bad, though I am not a doctor.

“Konan I think is a little worse. I have to talk with the doctor. They were doing the exam today and I do not have the result.”

Konan made his first Championship appearance for Wolves earlier this month in a 3-1 home defeat to Bolton. He then started a 2-1 win at Burnley.
