Welshpool man died at Powys hospital after failing to recover from a fall
A Welshpool man died at a Powys hospital after failing to recover from a fall.
Michael Patrick John Tinsley passed away at the Victoria Memorial Hospital in Welshpool on September 29 2026.
The 85 year-old had been admitted to the hospital in June having had a fall and he failed to recover from it.
An inquest was opened at Pontypridd Coroner's Court on Thursday, October 22 by His Majesty's Coroner Rachel Knight.
She heard that Mr Tinsley's death was reported by a GP on October 1 and he was identified by hospital identification on September 27.
Ms Knight heard no post mortem was carried out but a hospital consultation gave a provision cause of death as frailty of old age and a fall which led to a fractured pubic ramus.
The inquest heard Mr Tinsley lived at Trewern, Welshpool and he was born in Portsmouth in 1940.
Ms Knight said there was reason to believe Mr Tinsley's death was unnatural and an inquest would be required. She said family would be informed of a date once further investigations had been undertaken.
She passed on her sincere condolences to the family of Mr Tinsley.
