Three councillors have pooled money from their Councillors' Pride Fund

Three councillors have joined forces to try to solve traffic issues in a “rat run” country lane north of Telford.

Councillors Andrew Eade (Church Aston and Lilleshall), Jenny Urey and Nigel Dugmore (both Muxton) have pooled some of their Councillors' Pride Fund for potential improvements at Humber Lane.

Councillor Eade said the lane north of Hortonwood and Donnington has been used as a “rat run” by motorists, many of whom drive at excessive speeds. The lane is narrow and does not have pavements for pedestrians.

He said: “Along with the generosity of both Lilleshall and Donnington and Muxton parish councils, we have together raised in principle £10,000 towards a scheme which we will look at funding further in the future.

“We have engaged with the highways department at Telford & Wrekin Council who are looking into schemes for our consideration next month.

"All three of us will of course be consulting our residents before any work is undertaken.”
