Police investigation after driver dies in crash on Mid Wales A-road

A driver died in a crash on a major Mid Wales road over the weekend.

The crash, which involved one vehicle, took place on the A483 in Newtown, just south of the Laura Ashley Roundabout towards Dolfor.

Police said the incident, which involved a grey Dacia Sandero, happened at around 1.10pm yesterday - Sunday, October 25.

A spokesman for Dyfed Powys Police said: “Sadly, the driver of the Dacia died at the scene. Their family are being supported by specialist officers.

“There is currently no evidence to suggest any other vehicles or persons were involved, and officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation or anyone who was travelling along the road at the relevant time with dashcam footage is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police, either online, by e-mail, or by calling 101.
