More than 500 snap up Shrewsbury restaurant week offers so far - here's how to take part

The event has returned for the third year

More than 500 of Shrewsbury’s ‘Restaurant Week’ offers were claimed by diners ahead of the start of Shrewsbury Restaurant Week, which kicked off over the weekend.

The event, which celebrates the town’s burgeoning foodie reputation, runs for nine days, until the end of Sunday, November 1.

Now in its third year, the nine-day festival is organised by Shrewsbury BID and has been curated for the second year running by award-winning chef, slow food entrepreneur and independent hospitality advocate Steve Guy and wife, hospitality marketer Saskia Guy.

The 2026 edition brings together around thirty independent restaurants, cafés, bars and delis across the town centre, offering almost fifty fixed-price deals and a programme of one-off special events – including a feasting experience with a MasterChef 2026 Semi-finalist.

Offers cover everything from breakfast to late-night drinks.

The Mangal in Abbey Foregate is offering a discounted Turkish banquet, The Walrus a Sunday roast and Mason’s a special Shropshire Experience with Rowton Vineyard - while Chaiya Thai, The Lion + Pheasant and Cromwell’s Tap House are among the venues with weekday dinner deals.

People can claim offers online by completing a short form, and then receiving a voucher by e-mail to show at the restaurant when they order.

There is no limit on how many offers each person can claim.

Seb Slater, executive director of Shrewsbury BID, said: “It's been great working with Steve and Saskia Guy again to bring the third year of this event to life.

“Restaurant Week gives people a reason to try somewhere new, or go back to an old favourite, and brings that custom to our independent restaurants, cafés and bars at a time of year when every booking counts.

“They are a huge part of what makes the town centre so special, and we would encourage everyone to make the most of the week."

Alongside the many offers available to entice people into new venues and back to old favourites, several venues are hosting one-off events created just for restaurant week.

St Vincent on Fish Street has teamed up with BBC MasterChef semi-finalist Frankie Dunn for Feasting with Frankie, a five-course global autumn tasting menu, from 7pm to 10.30pm on Wednesday, October 28, with tickets available online.

On the same evening, The Crafty Cat on Princess Street is stepping away from its beloved afternoon teas for its first ‘Evening at My Kitchen Table’ event.

Just eight guests will gather around owner Sally’s kitchen table for an intimate seven-course supper of seasonal small plates, created especially for restaurant week with tickets also available online.

Meanwhile the Condor is hosting a Spooky Welsh Night from 6pm on Friday, October 30, with Welsh conversation, spooky stories and crafts.

CSons is closing out the week on Sunday, November 1, with a special CSonday Roast Dinner – Scandinavian style. Tickets are again available online.

Steve Guy, chef and curator of Shrewsbury Restaurant Week, said, “I could easily write 10,000 words on why Shrewsbury’s independent hospitality scene is so special. It’s a community that really cares about its businesses, and in terms of what’s on offer it punches well above its weight, with forward-thinking, simply delicious venues that would sit happily in any big city.

"This is the second year my wife and I have curated restaurant week, and it’s bigger than ever, with special events, visiting chefs and stacks of fantastic offers. There’s genuinely something for everyone, and there’s already a real buzz about the week ahead.”

Marc and Kevin Mason-Eeley, who own Mason's Wine Bar on Butcher Row, which is part of the week, said: “As a new, locally owned independent business, Mason’s is proud to be taking part in Shrewsbury Restaurant Week for the first time.

"As locals ourselves, we’ve always loved Shrewsbury and its fantastic hospitality scene. That passion was a big part of the reason we opened Mason’s - to champion brilliant local suppliers, celebrate great food and drink, and become part of the life and buzz of Shrewsbury town centre.

"Shrewsbury Restaurant Week brings all of this together, celebrating the independent businesses, talented people and local producers that make our town such a special place to eat, drink and visit."
