A motorcyclist who died after a crash with a lorry near Cosford has been named.

Simon Lloyd Rich was killed in the crash on Monday morning. His identity was confirmed by the Shropshire coroner.

The accident happened at Cosford Grange Lodge, between Shifnal and Cosford, at 10.53am.

It closed roads in the area throughout the day and emergency services remained on the scene into the afternoon.

Police said that a white Honda motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with a DAF tipper lorry that was travelling towards Albrighton from the direction of Shifnal.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anybody who may have seen the manner in which the vehicles were being driven before the incident.
