Britain in Bloom judges coming to Newport this week

Members of Newport in Bloom have been working hard to prepare the town for the judging, which will take place on Wednesday.

It is the second judging in less than a month after representatives of Heart of England in Bloom visited on July 20.

The whole town has been coming together to make sure it is ready for the visit.

People have been helping with litter picking and have been watering plants to make sure the town is pristine ready for the visit.

The people behind Newport in Bloom have asked that people keep their own areas tidy.

Karen Claxton, of the group, said: "All we ask of the residents is they keep the pavements and curbs outside their house clean and tidy."
