Telford car blaze was arson, say police

Police say a car fire was arson and are appealing for information from the public.

The incident took place on Daisy Bank Drive in St George's at around 12.30am.

The fire service attended and used hoses to deal with the blaze, which they said destroyed 20 per cent of the 'multi-purpose vehicle'.

PCSO Wayne Jervis, from the St George's, Priorslee and Muxton Safer Neighbourhood Team, urged anyone with information to come forward.

He said: "Sadly there was a vehicle arson last night in the St George's area, no persons were hurt however the vehicle is beyond repair.

"If you live on Daisy Bank Drive or the surrounding streets, please can you check your CCTV or video doorbells should you have them.

"The incident took place on Tuesday, April 4, at approximately 00.25am.

"We are interested in any vehicles or persons seen in the area at this time."

PCSO Jarvis asked people with information to submit it via the ‘Tell Us About’ form on the West Mercia Police website, or by calling 101 quoting incident number 19 of 04042023.
