An ambulance and police were called to the crash on the A49 near Dorrington, between Shrewsbury and Church Stretton, at about 8am.

The crash involved a blue BMW motorcycle and a dark grey coloured car but the motorist drove away from the scene.

The collision caused delays during the morning rush hour for motorists as the road was blocked.

Laura Maltby, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said: "We were called just before 8am at the A49 from the Dorrington to Leebotwood road to reports of a collision between a motorcyclist and vehicle which failed to stop.

"The motorcycle was a blue BMW and the vehicle is believed to be a dark, grey coloured car."

Jamie Arrowsmith, speaking for West Midlands Ambulance said: "The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, suffered minor injuries to his arm and his shoulder. He was treated and discharged at the scene."

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is asked to call 101.
