Four fire engines and two police cars have been stationed on the A49 in Shrewsbury near a bridge over the River Severn this evening.

The emergency crews were on the outskirts of the town on the stretch of road between Sundorne and Preston island.

The AA’s traffic website suggests traffic is moving slowly northbound towards Sundorne.
