Man taken to hospital after attack near Shrewsbury

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital after being assaulted in a village near Shrewsbury today.

An air ambulance and two land ambulances were sent to The Leasowes in Ford after the attack, which happened at about 1.45pm.

It’s thought the assault may have happened on Nescliffe Industrial Estate.

Claire Brown, of West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We had reports of an assault at 1.45pm.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and Midlands Air Ambulance attended.

"We conveyed a man who has suffered a serious injury. He is being taken to hospital for further treatment."
