The cyclists set off from London heading for Paris which they hope to reach on Sunday in support of Severn Hospice, which cares for thousands of families across Shropshire and Mid Wales living with life limiting illnesses.

Participants will finish their epic ride at the famous Eiffel Tower in the centre of the French capital. All 10 participants have been training hard and fundraising in order to make the trek across the Channel to support their local hospice.

Mike Perry, community fundraising advisor at Severn Hospice, said: “All of our participants in the London to Paris cycle challenge have shown incredible commitment, both in their training and in fundraising for our hospice. We are really grateful to all of them and are confident they’ll have a fantastic time on their journey across the Channel and through the picturesque French countryside.

“There are still lots of adventure fundraising opportunities at our hospice so if anyone would like to take on a cycle challenge or something similar we hope they’ll visit our website or contact us to find out what’s on offer.”
