Firefighters from across Shropshire spent Tuesday night bringing the blaze at Rednal, near West Felton, under control.
A large quantity of straw and agricultural machinery was destroyed.
Fire crews had to set up water curtains to protect adjacent properties and local residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed due to large amounts of smoke from the incident.
Initially Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was a doubtful origin.
Today a spokesman for the service said that investigations had shown that the fire had started in a vehicle and had spread to the barn.
"The barn fire was accidental," he said.
