Shropshire Council made more than £2m from parking last year, figures reveal
Shropshire Council made more than £2m from parking fees last year, according to figures released by the government.

The information is included in an annual release from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
It shows that the council made a total of £2.3m from both on and off-street parking during 2022/23 – £724,000 from on-street parking and £1,609,000 from off-street parking.
The council actually made a total of £5,708,000 from parking – £1,112,000 from on-street, and £4,596,000 from off-street fees, but paid £511,000 on staff, and £2,864,000 on running costs.
Meanwhile Telford & Wrekin Council made a fraction of the total – just £52,000 from its off-street parking.
