Teenage cyclist airlifted to hospital after Ludlow crash
A teenage cyclist was airlifted to hospital after suffering a suspected fractured leg in a crash with a car.
The 15-year-old was cycling downhill when the crash took place at the junction of Sidney Road and Housman Close in Ludlow.
The boy was airlifted to Hereford County Hospital, following the crash shortly after 5.20pm yesterday afternoon.
Jamie Arrowsmith, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "The collision left the car with front end damage and happened on a downhill stretch of road.
"The cyclist suffered a suspected right leg fracture and also minor injuries to his face. Whilst being treated by ambulance crews he suffered a sudden drop in his blood pressure, which medics acted quickly upon.
"He was given fluids and immobilised before being airlifted to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment."
As well as the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham, an ambulance and a community paramedic in a rapid response vehicle attended the scene.
