Bridgnorth children have a 'souper' idea

A nursery is all set to cause a stir this weekend – by inviting townspeople to join them in a marathon soup-making session.

The children at Little Green House Nursery in Mill Street, Low Town, Bridgnorth, are hoping lots of people will come along to help them make a huge pot of goodness for their Big Soup Share.

“We’re inviting people to join us in making a huge pot of soup as a whole community,” said Little Green House director Hannah Vyse.

“Our children grow vegetables here at the nursery as part of our horticultural programme and we thought it would be nice to invite others to help make some soup from home-grown ingredients.

“So bring along some vegetables and help your children to create some new meals and try new flavours.”

Last year the nation wide event, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society, saw over 57,000 portions of soup served all over the UK.

The Little Green House Big Soup Share runs for an hour from 10am on Saturday, October 20.

Little Green House also has bases in Claverley and Bobbington and holds the Businesses for Children Award 2018 for the Nursery Preschool category in Shropshire.

All bases are rated level five by the Royal Horticultural Society Gardening Schools programme and the Claverley setting was rated Outstanding by Ofsted earlier this year.
