Pupils at Myddle Primary School, Shrewsbury, went out onto the school field to await the VIP guest for their science day, which turned out to be an RAF helicopter from nearby RAF Shawbury.

After the excitement of the landing the pilots went into school and helped with the science day.

Head at the school, Mrs Clare Williams, said that it was a good way to bring science to life.

"To raise the profile of Science across the both schools in our federation, Baschurch and Myddle Primary Schools held a Science day.

"Myddle Primary School has several service children as pupils and we were keen to link the science activities to the flight."

"Two of the children's parents piloted the helicopter to school and then led various activities and investigations throughout the day."
