Householders get leaflets on Telford school bid
More than 2,000 leaflets have been delivered to residents in Telford as part of consultation on plans to create a learning community.
Telford & Wrekin Council staff are working with Brookside Improvement Group (BIG) to keep residents informed about the proposals to rebuild secondary school, Lord Silkin, and primary school Grange Park. A community drop-in session is planned for Monday, September 10.
The session will spotlight the proposals to create the Lakeside Learning Community and will be held in the Lord Silkin Hall from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
The leaflets have been distributed by the BIG team to tell people about the drop-in event and give residents the chance to view the proposals and planning applications.
People can also meet professionals working on the project.
If outline planning permission is granted, a full planning application will be submitted by the recently appointed contractor, Shepherd Construction Limited.
Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families said:"It is clear from feedback about previous drop-in sessions that local residents like the opportunity to ask questions direct to people involved."
Tina Rogers, chairwoman of the Brookside Improvement Group, said: "I hope that the drop-in event gets a good response from local people."
